About Lowell
Whether you're new to Lowell or have lived in Lowell all of your life, you'll probably find that a surprising number of attractions, recreational and sports facilities, cultural opportunities, historic sites and events are readily available to you from your home at River Place Towers. You can walk to AHL hockey or Minor League baseball games. The Lowell National Historical Park is less than a block away and features popular mill and canal boat tours that include a trolley ride through downtown Lowell's historic district. Already a historical attraction and now home to high-tech industries and a booming development effort, Lowell is in the midst of a major program dedicated to building on the rich heritage of the city to assure a high quality of life for its residents.
Surrounding Lowell are some of the most historically rich areas of our nation. If you prefer salt air to the past, you can reach the New England seacoast in less than an hour. The bright lights and cosmopolitan attractions of Boston are just as close by car, or you can take the commuter rail.
We suggest that you start by taking a look at our local version of the big picture: the marvelous view from River Place Towers. Then take to the surounding area by foot, by car or by trolley. There's plenty to see and at least as much to do in and around Lowell.
